*Feel free to request a different class time if no open time slots work for your schedule* Hello! Welcome to the ongoing format of my one-on-one "Writing Confidence" class! I am so excited to work with your child on their writing confidence and skills. My classroom is open to all students and I take a calm and low-pressure approach to writing. Together your student and I will talk through what they are having difficulties with and tailor an approach to conquering those difficulties based on how they think and what they enjoy. Each tutoring session will start by going over our goals for that day. Parents and/or students are invited to message me prior to class time with specific skills that need improvement. We'll talk about techniques to improve on the specific difficulty the student is dealing with using discussion and examples. Then, students will write using prompts either in short spurts by themselves or guided step-by-step depending on their confidence level. After a short draft is compiled, we'll work together to improve what was written, talk through what was difficult, and move on to another prompt, focusing on different aspects that need improvement as time allows
Learning Goals
Our goals for each class are tailored to your child's needs but may include learning techniques to defeat writer's block, building writing confidence in general, improving essay structure, learning how to edit, etc.
