Description

Class Experience

1) Students will gain confidence in writing and sharing.
2.) Students will practice grammar, sentence variation, and mechanics.
3.) Students will try and experience different forms of writing. (i.e. journalism, narrative, person, poetry, persuasion, expository...)
4.) Students will develop a habit of writing.
5.) Students will be exposed to different examples of writing and apply techniques.
I have a degree in Education, teaching English as a New language, and a Masters in instructional design. I have been teaching writing for about 6 years in ENL, Ivy Tech Community College, and some Elementary. I enjoy writing myself and exploring different forms of writing styles.
Students will journal and write weekly.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I use feedback charts to provide personalized feedback for student work.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Students are encouraged to share their writings in class. I will probably ask each student if they want to share and not assume whether they will or won't.
