Q: What will we learn? A: A variety of topics will be covered including, but not limited to: science, technology, biology, chemistry, art, culture, psychology, etc. Within each topic there are many curiousities to explore! Each week in class, we will explore a different wonder/curiosity that will widely range in content. (anything you can think of!) Class will be structured using visually engaging and interactive slides, discussion and video. I will encourage learners to use the classroom page to post any curiosities of their own for me to research and provide as the potential wonder of the week in future classes. This class is perfect for the young & curious minds! Come for one class or stay for them all, the wonders & curiosities will continue and change weekly! =) Example of a curiosities: - What would happen if we had no moon? - How do bees choose their next queen? - Will humans be replaced with AI one day? - Who invented lazer tag? - Why do cats purr?

Hi! My name is Caitlin! I have been teaching online for 4 years and in classroom for 3. Currently I live in the beautiful country of Costa Rica, but my journey began at home base, deep in the heart of Texas!
I earned a BS degree in biology from the University of Texas at Arlington and now share my passion for the sciences with my students!
In my classroom, I value inspiring students to love learning. Science is all around us and my goal in every class that I teach, is to awaken the curious mind of students about the life we live in!
When I'm not teaching, you can usually find me playing soccer, hiking, camping, or looking for sloths in the jungle. I am obsessed with sloths and have deeply educated myself pretty well about them. So much so, I even teach a 4 week class on all things sloths; cross checked and discussed with a professional sloth technician here in Costa Rica who works for a conservation rescue center here for sloths .
I look forward to meeting you in any (or all) of my classes ranging from sloths, black holes or even philosophical discussions about science and technology. 😃
