Can everyone here me at the back of the room? Good! Being heard clearly is fundamental in any genre of spoken performance. We all want to be able to speak with confidence whether it's for a performance, or school. Learning Goals: ⚡️Voice and Diction class is cooperative, and provides opportunities to learn with support. ⚡️It's creative and encourages language experimentation and risk-taking. It provides natural occasions for practice and enables children to build a repertoire of reading strategies with a purpose. ⚡️Apart from the fun aspect, there are many opportunities for the emergent reader to become comfortable with reading tongue twisters, poems and limericks. ⚡️The children will have fun listening to each other, reading together and celebrating their accomplishments. ⚡️Diction, rhythm, inflection, expression and fluency will all be practiced. ⚡️Through open discussion, students will learn thinking out of the box, improvisation and will use their imagination!
What better way to encourage reading then to have some fun with Tongue Twisters! I have a Bachelor's Degree with a Major in Drama and a Minor in English. I have performed and toured with a cast where we performed across Alberta, Canada - engaging young students and bringing with us a love of drama! I have over 30 years of acting experience including musical theatre. I am a homeschool mom myself and I have two children with special learning needs, including Aspergers and NVLD. I guide my teaching to each child's unique needs and will support and encourage so everyone feels comfortable and accepted.
