This ongoing class has a dual benefit! Students will fortify their vocabulary set while learning about science and nature. Each week we will have a lesson centered around five to seven significant words from an interesting science topic. Students will learn the definition and time will be allowed for them to write it if they would like. We will explore each word through examples and explanations. There will be discussion and students will be encouraged to share their knowledge and ask questions. If time allows, we will match words and definitions and play a game of Two Truths and a Lie based on what we covered in class. Teacher expertise and credentials
Minnesota Teaching Certificate in English/Language Arts
Hello! Thank you for stopping by! I love students of all ages and I love teaching a variety of topics. Some of my favorite classes to teach are reading, nature, and science. I try to create a positive and encouraging atmosphere so learners feel comfortable in participating. I want students to have fun while learning!
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Minnesota State University, a Minnesota teaching license, and a 160 hour TEFL certification.
I have been teaching and guiding children since 2000 as a preschool/childcare provider, an ELA teacher in public school classrooms, and an ESL teacher in online classrooms.
I love teaching, but I also love being a student! I take as many classes as possible on whatever subject piques my interest. Teaching and learning are my life!
When my three daughters are home from college we love going for hikes, cooking together, and of course, snuggling our two funny cats, Pumpkin and Marigold.
I hope to see your learner in class!
