During our meetings, learners will be introduced to a special part of our world. We will learn interesting facts about the place and the people who live there. Learners will have fun completing a simple craft/art project that they can share with their family and help them remember some of the things they learned. I will use Google Maps to take learners on a virtual tour of the places we learn about. I will also use colorful slides, YouTube videos, and pictures from books or...
My degree is in Childhood Education and I have enjoyed traveling and learning about different places myself. This class will only introduce learners to different places and we will NOT be digging deep into each country and culture. Learners will be taught that although some people in a place or culture may believe something, or do something, it doesn't mean that all people of the same country or culture believe or do the same thing. Learners will be encouraged to learn more about the places we explore and to always keep an open mind.
Specific supplies for each class will be posted in the classroom at the beginning of the week. In general, learners will needs supplies such as child safe scissors, glue, crayons, construction paper, and cereal-box cardboard.
25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Please make sure your learner is safe with the craft supplies such as scissors. Learners may be asked to mute and unmute at times, please help them if needed. *If YouTube is used during class, it will be shared through my screen and learners will not need to access any outside links. I will also share Google Maps through screen share and learners will not need to access it on their own. No additional accounts will be required.
