Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 3
Children not only need time to write, they also need explicit instruction to develop into confident writers. In this class:

-Students will learn how to craft stories with a beginning, middle, and end.

-They will learn to stay on topic and use detailed pictures to match their writing. They'll also learn how to describe their reaction to the events in the story (emotions / feelings words).

-Students will learn how to use correct punctuation, spelling and grammar, and learn vocabulary.

Each class begins with a demonstration on how to do the following:

-Plan a beginning, middle and end
-Draw a picture with details to each part of the story, & use the drawings to write

After the demonstration, children have time to write independently, while the teacher checks in with each student to brainstorm ideas and give feedback.

Included:
- Printable writing paper
- Checklists
