Beginner Level
The content of the course is divided into three main areas: vocabulary, grammar, and functional language skills. Students will expand their vocabulary on topics like weather, clothing, and sports, while also deepening their understanding of grammar, including the use of direct and indirect object pronouns, and the past tense. Additionally, they will learn practical language functions, such as expressing likes and giving and asking for directions. Students will explore a wide range of engaging topics, including: -Greetings and Farewells: Beyond basic phrases, children will learn varied greetings and how to introduce themselves. -Weather: Vocabulary and expressions related to daily weather. -Clothing: Identifying and describing different clothing items. -Sports: Names of sports and discussing sports activities. -Seasons, Days, and Months: Learning about the calendar, seasons, and associated activities. -Summer: Focusing on vocabulary and activities specific to the summer season. -Direct and Indirect Object Pronouns: How to replace nouns with pronouns in sentences. -To Go/Come, To Take/Bring: Using these verbs correctly in context. -To Be (Permanent) - "Ser" and Temporary - "Estar": Understanding when to use "ser" and "estar." -To Be + Gerund: Forming the present continuous tense. -Imperfect Tense: Talking about past actions that were ongoing or repeated. -Comparisons: Comparing objects and concepts. -Participles: Learning verb forms used in perfect tenses. -The Verb "To Like": Expressing likes and dislikes with "gustar." -Giving and Asking for Directions: Navigating in Spanish. -Adjectives and Describing Pictures: Using descriptive language to talk about people and things. Class Structure: This is a small-group class to ensure personalized attention and active participation. Each session will last 45 minutes, and we’ll meet once a week. Teaching Approach: The class is highly interactive and designed to keep children engaged through activities and games that make learning fun. We use a communicative approach, emphasizing meaningful interactions where students can practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Spanish. Student Interaction: The course is all about creating a lively, enjoyable learning environment. Students will engage in discussions, participate in games, sing songs, and interact with slideshows that help reinforce their learning. This approach ensures that every child has ample opportunity to practice their language skills in a supportive and fun setting.

We’ll go beyond basics like "Hola" and "Buenos días" to include phrases like "Buenas and "Hasta luego". Students will also practice introducing themselves, using phrases like "Me llamo [Name]" (My name is [Name]).

Weather
Students will explore vocabulary related to the weather, such as "sunny," "rainy," "hot," and "cold." They'll learn how to describe the weather each day and talk about their favorite weather conditions.

Lesson 3:
Clothing
This topic covers the names of different clothing items, like "shirt," "pants," "shoes," and "jacket." We will use the vocabulary in real life scenarios such as packing suitcases for a trip. Children will also practice describing what they and others are wearing, using colors and other descriptive words.

Sports
Children will learn the names of various sports in Spanish, such as "soccer," "basketball," and "swimming." They'll also practice talking about which sports they like, what equipment is needed, and how to play different games.

The following tools may be incorporated into our interactive activities:
Kahoot: Kahoot is a game-based learning platform that allows students to participate in quizzes, discussions, and surveys. No login or email is required from the students. They will be provided with a class code to join and complete assignments.
Padlet: Padlet is a virtual bulletin board where students can collaborate, and showcase their work. Students will receive instructions on how to access and contribute to Padlet activities using a class code.
Nearpod: Nearpod is an interactive presentation platform. Nearpod may be utilized for interactive lessons and real-time assessments. Students will be guided on how to access Nearpod activities using a class code provided during our sessions.
It is important to note that these third-party tools are carefully selected to ensure they adhere to strict privacy and security guidelines. We prioritize the safety and well-being of our students, and all activities involving these tools will be closely monitored by our instructor.
No parental guidance is required for students to use these tools, as they will be provided with clear instructions and support during our sessions. However, if you have any concerns or questions regarding the use of these tools in our Spanish online class, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
Pre-Requisites
-Completed an introductory Spanish A1 course, which covers basic vocabulary, simple sentence structures, and fundamental grammar concepts.
