Class Experience

In this weekly show and tell class learners are invited to come as they are to share and chat with the group.

During each class meeting we will greet each other with a song before taking turns sharing the item we brought to class. As learners share with the group they will have a chance to practice various social/conversational skills such as taking turns, speaking, listening, and asking questions. This class is designed to be a fun and welcoming environment for your learner to practice public speaking with their peers. I can't wait to see what your learner brings to class to share!

Each week we will have a suggested theme for show and tell. If your learner does not have an item specifically related to that theme, that is ok. They can bring an unrelated item if they wish. My hope is that your learner chooses something to share that they are excited to chat about!

Hello Outschool Families!
I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to teach and connect with learners here on Outschool. With 14 years of teaching experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with students of all ages in a variety of settings.

I began my teaching journey working as a substitute teacher at the elementary level while taking classes to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Social Studies Education. After earning my degree, I taught 10th-grade World History at a large public school in South Florida. Teaching history was a dream come true, and I loved every moment of it! At the end of my fourth year teaching high school, my husband's job transferred him to Virginia where I began working as a lead teacher at a preschool over the summer. I thought teaching preschool was just going to be a summer job, but it turned out that I fell in love with the littles and teaching early literacy and reading.

After the birth of my daughter, I transitioned to online teaching. I’m grateful for the flexibility it offers—both for my students and myself. One of the best parts of teaching on Outschool is connecting with learners from all over the world.

Teaching is my passion, no matter the platform being used. There is nothing quite like seeing learning "click" for a student and watching them begin to excel on their own. My favorite topics to teach are history as well as early literacy, reading, and writing. I'm an avid reader myself and it brings me great joy to see my students get as excited about reading as I do!

I look forward to meeting your child and joining them on their learning journey. I hope to see you in class soon!
