Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will work on Beginner/ Intermediate level Scratch projects. This allows them to confidently move onto more complex code and continue their coding journey. The weekly course is also intended to encourage students to get excited about the possibilities of coding and computer science!
I’ve been a professional developer for nearly a decade. In the past I've worked for Dell, Apple, Best Buy, and the Government of New Zealand. Over the last 4 years, I’ve been teaching and mentoring aspiring junior developers.
You can create a free account on https://scratch.mit.edu/join. Your student will need a Windows PC, Apple Mac, or Chromebook to complete this class. Unfortunately, Scratch does not work on iPads at this time. ******** Students will need to be very comfortable typing and use a mouse/track pad with their device. ********
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Students will need previous experience using Scratch and should have completed a few projects on their own. If your student is new to Scratch, please check out Scratch Coding: Getting Started for Beginners course that runs every week.
