Weekly SAT Prep

Students will prepare for all sections of the SAT exam through official practice tests with immediate feedback, live explanations, and sharing of strategies.

What's included

1 live meeting
1 in-class hours per week
Homework
1 hour per week. Students are required to complete 2 mini practice tests on their own each week. They should take no more than 30 minutes in total.
Assessment
Students are assessed through the practice exams. Score reports will be given each session, so they can monitor their progress.

Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
This ongoing class will meet once per week for 60 minutes. Students can join at any time as we will complete new material each week. Before class, students will take 2 mini practice SAT tests on their own, submit their answers, and receive their scores. During class, we will come together to discuss the most-missed problems from the tests, as well as discuss strategies and multiple ways to attack the problems. I will encourage students to ask questions and help answer each others' questions. Students find my personality motivating, kind, and fun! Students will be most comfortable in this class if they have already taken Algebra and Geometry. All questions will be from actual College Board materials so they will be very similar to the ones they will see on test day. Below is a sample schedule:

Week of June 30: Reading and Non-Calculator Math
Week of July 7: English and Calculator Math
Week of July 14: Reading and Non-Calculator Math 
Week of July 21: English and Calculator Math 
Week of July 28: Reading and Non-Calculator Math 
Week of August 4: English and Calculator Math 
Week of August 11: Reading and Non-Calculator Math
Week of August 18: English and Calculator Math 


*Additional dates may be added, depending on request.

Students will learn and practice the types of questions that are asked on the SAT. They will also gain strategies to use on test day to maximize their score.

Pre-Requisites
Students will best be prepared for this class if they have taken or are currently enrolled in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry.
