In this weekly, ongoing class students will learn new Spanish vocabulary words and then run to find them in their house! Students will be introduced to the word, practice its pronunciation and meaning and then race to find the item in their house to show the class. When students return with their item, they practice saying the Spanish word. This is a fast and fun way to learn Spanish while keeping your students active and engaged! This is for Spanish beginners and no prior experience or knowledge is needed. Each week we will cover a variety of new Spanish words and things they can easily find in their homes! Here is an example of what we may cover each week. Week 1: Students will learn the words ball, hat, mug, bag, shoe as well as some colors Week 2: Students will learn the words book, towel, pillow, glasses, pencil and colors Week 3: Students will learn the words bottle, toy, backpack, notebook, marker and more! Week 4: Students will learn the words food, blanket, glue, remote and the words big and small Please be aware that students will be up and running around to get their items so parental guidance is advised if your child is younger. We will not cover any items that students should not run with.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi there! I am a creative, fun and patient Environmental Educator, Spanish and English teacher, and certified Permaculture designer. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies, French and Environmental Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (Go Badgers!) as well as a TESOL certification I received in Thailand before teaching there for a year. I am a former Peace Corps volunteer and spent four years in Mexico as an Environmental Education volunteer working with kids in rural schools. I have also worked as an online English teacher for over a year. Teaching kids is truly my greatest joy!
I am passionate about the environment and love teaching kids about composts, gardens, energy, and climate change! I am also fluent in Spanish and enjoy teaching fun vocabulary and introductory conversation classes. I also love working with kids on life skills such as public speaking and confidence building and try to incorporate them as much as possible in my classes.
When I'm not teaching you can find me embroidering, reading mystery books, writing and tending to my vegetable garden. I can't wait to meet you, let's learn something fun together!
