Weekly Reading Fluency & Comprehension With a Licensed/Credentialed Teacher

During this class we will practice our reading skills together, focusing on fluency and comprehension. Many times, students simply need someone to sit with them for a short time to focus on reading something that captures their interest. This builds a sense of confidence as they hear positive feedback, regardless of their skill level. Students will have the option to read out loud (always with the option to pass with no pressure), and we will discuss each chapter together, including vocabulary and character development, as we predict what may happen next. I will also read out loud to model fluency, intonation, and critical thinking to students. This helps students to consider how they, too, can process what they read. This class will focus on the joy that can be found in reading, and in turn, students will be motivated to read more often on their own and with confidence.
