Welcome to book club! In this ongoing book club, students will read one A to Z Mysteries book and come to class ready to discuss the plot and character motivations while guessing the secret puzzle (all while snacking on something yummy!) "This series features three smart kids who solve crimes and mysteries. They live in a small town in Connecticut, called Green Lawn. The kids are Dink Duncan, Josh Pinto, and Ruth Rose Hathaway. They are third graders and live near each other. They have hobbies and pets and parents, but what they love most is a good mystery." - Ron Roy Students will independently read one A to Z Mysteries book by Ron Roy each week (as scheduled below), then come to class ready to discuss. Class begins with a short warm-up to get students engaged and ready to share their thoughts (including sharing the snack they brought to class!). Then students will answer a series of interesting and funny multiple-choice questions about the plot of the book. Students will also have the opportunity to answer reflection questions about the characters' motivations and behaviors and choices. Five stars will be given as a reward throughout the class, slowly revealing a secret picture with each star given while students guess what the puzzle could be. Class ends with a reminder of the following week's book club A to Z Mysteries book.
