Class Experience
🎵🎵 What are clarinet lessons? 🎵🎵 My classes focus on students ranging from beginners to advanced players, providing relaxed, energetic, and individualized instruction. The typical lesson format begins with a daily warm-up that includes long tones, 12ths, scales, and arpeggios from standard academic method books. Students are assigned weekly lessons from a method book that matches their proficiency level. If your child needs to work on a specific piece, kindly scan it and send it ahead of time. For more advanced clarinetists, we will explore clarinet method books that I have been using for over 30 years, which have a 100% success rate in advancing proficiency across all registers while delving into standard repertoire from the great masters. Hearing me play is also a great way to inspire my students to reach their goals without going through hours and hours of practice. With my extensive experience teaching thousands of clarinet students in the USA, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, I have distilled valuable insights to craft a program format that is tailored specifically for your child. 🎵🎵 Why Ms. Lacaille? 🎵🎵 I have been incredibly fortunate to gain international recognition for my virtuosity, creativity, and mastery of the clarinet, producing enchanting sounds, expressive phrasing, and captivating performances. My dedication to educational outreach programs has been the cornerstone of my success, allowing me to connect with aspiring musicians worldwide. Through my travels to over 26 countries, including Hong Kong, Italy, Germany, Mexico, Cuba, Asia, and Europe, I have been able to immerse myself in diverse teaching experiences and capture the true essence of my teaching career. Since 1985, I have been a proud member of the International Clarinet Association, regularly performing at conferences across the globe. I am honored to be a Silverstein Clarinet Artist and an RZ Clarinet Artist, further fueling my passion for the instrument. Alongside my orchestral endeavors, which include touring with productions like Phantom of the Opera (USA Tour) and West Side Story (European Tour), I am currently teaching throughout the Seattle Public School District and nurturing a wonderful clarinet studio comprising 38 talented students. 🎵🎵 Cancellation Policy 🎵🎵 This class is set-up as an ongoing class. Please think of that as a standing appointment you're setting up with me and your learner. You'll be charged every Sunday by Outschool unless you've told me in advance that you cannot meet that week. I cannot provide make-up lessons to students for no shows unless you message me 24 hours in advance. In the event that you message me 24 hours in advance, I allow two makeup lessons per quarter. Quarters are as follows: - January 1st through March 31st - April 1st through June 30th - July 1st through September 30th - October 1st through December 31st I cannot provide makeup time for students arriving late to class. Outschool policy states that teachers are not required to wait longer than 10 minutes past the scheduled starting time. Lessons canceled with under 24 hours' notice can be refunded by request of the child's guardian due to illness or family emergency only. In the event of either, please request a refund for that class when you notify me of the emergency. Refunds cannot be honored after the week of the missed class.
