Class Experience

In this ongoing class, I will be guiding the student through their questions on mathematical concepts that they bring up.  Questions can be on any math subject, i.e., Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, etc.

The private sessions are scheduled upon request so please don't hesitate to contact me to create a schedule with your learner. I can schedule sessions at least 24 hours in advance.

A huge part of studying math problem solving involves narrative or “story” problems. In these sessions, we will work on problem solving strategies which will prepare you for math problem solving. Such strategies will include the importance of formulating good questions, the use of visualization, and the role of mathematical concepts, definitions, assumptions, theorems, and rules during the problem solving process.

I have 9 years of experience teaching mathematics to students. I have worked with students in the age group 9 to 18 years old in a one-on-one and small group settings for math tutoring.

Come prepared to ask questions about math topics, whether from school assignments or other topics you'd like more practice on, as well as bring something to write on and something to write with: pen & paper / marker & whiteboard / stylus & tablet.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

1 hour 50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

I understand how important it is to make time to gather with your family and celebrate holidays & special occasions. If you are planning to celebrate any of the holidays during one of our scheduled sessions, please let me know ahead of time so we can cancel/reschedule the class that conflicts with it. I would really appreciate it if you could give me at least a week in advance if you want to cancel or reschedule for a celebration.
