Welcome to the Weekly Math Spiral Review course for 3rd grade students! This course is designed to help students build and maintain their math skills throughout the school year. It is also a great opportunity for students in 4th or 5th grade to practice and reinforce foundational skills. Each week, we will cover a variety of math topics to ensure that students maintain a strong understanding of all 3rd grade math skills. 1. Strengthen math skills: Students will have the opportunity to review and reinforce their understanding of the key math concepts and skills learned in 3rd grade including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, geometry, and measurement. 2. Develop problem-solving strategies: Students will learn and apply problem-solving strategies to word problems and math challenges, including identifying patterns, breaking down problems into smaller parts, and using visual aids. 3. Identify areas of weakness: Through independent problem-solving and class discussions, students will identify areas in which they may need additional practice and support to improve their math skills.
Certified teacher with 10+ years in the classroom. Certifications in Early Childhood(birth-2nd grade, Childhood(1st-6th grade), Special Education, Gifted and Talented Instruction, as well as Art Education. Master’s degree in Differentiated Instruction.
Homework Offered
In order to get the most out of each review session, students must commit to completing the weekly review questions before class each week. These questions will be in Nearpod. Students can either complete their work on screen or solve the problems on paper and take a picture to post on Nearpod. These weekly question sets should take students about 10 to 30 minutes to complete depending on how challenging they are for the student.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
To monitor and evaluate a student's progress, ongoing informal assessments will be conducted in class through observation and discussions. Additionally, their performance on review questions will be tracked to gauge their understanding of concepts over time. Students will receive feedback on their work on Nearpod and during live sessions, either verbally or through the chat function. Parents will be able to access monthly written feedback as requested.Grades Offered
