Welcome, welcome, awesome parents and students!
I'm thrilled that you found my profile on my small corner of Outschool. I'm Tori, an enthusiastic educator with a passion for making learning creative and FUN. 🎉
⭐ A Bit About Me ⭐
Even from a young age, I’ve always loved adding creativity and fun when working with children.
With more than a decade of diverse teaching environments, I've had the pleasure of working with children from all corners of the globe! From running summer camps and workshops to being an online ESL teacher for kids from Japan, Korea, and China.
I got my Bachelor of Science degree at Utah Valley University in Elementary Education and then went on to become a 3rd grade teacher!
I not only taught 3rd grade, but I also volunteered and taught in preschool through 4th-grade classrooms, even overseeing the reading recovery program!
Now, I teach from home as I care for my 3 young kiddos. I'm currently homeschooling my oldest! One of my favorite things to do is play and go on small adventures with my children.
✨ My Favorite Subjects to Teach ✨
Some of my favorite subjects to teach are:
-- Life Skills --
I love teaching life skills subjects because they are often overlooked in traditional schools. Yet they are so important for teaching our young learners how to be self-sufficient, healthy adults.
-- STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) --
This is where the real fun happens! Wowing experiments, surprising discovery, innovative tinkering, and beautiful creativity all play a big part of well-rounded learning. I love to integrate these engaging subjects together to create a more full and rich learning experience for my students.
-- Arts and Crafts --
Getting to create hands-on projects with art and crafts is a wonderful outlet for self-expression, new ideas, and thoughtful meditation. I love seeing the sense of pride on my student’s faces when they’ve created something beautiful with their hands.
-- Movement --
Dance, stretching, gymnastics, and exercise are all activities I do to not only to build a healthy body, it’s also a way I love to express myself and relieve stress in healthy ways. I love the opportunity to have fun and teach my students these skills.
💡 What Drives Me To Teach 💡
My goal for each class that I teach here on Outschool is to inspire your child to have fun learning. Not only to learn individual lessons but also to spark a desire for lifelong exploration.
