This class is a private flute and/or piccolo lesson. It is for flutists who are just beginning through advanced high school players. We will study tone, technique, breathing, scales, vibrato, and articulation among other flute specific topics. Depending on the ability level of the learner, we will use different method books, etudes, technical studies, and solo literature. I send notes on what was discussed and any assignments from the lesson to practice during the week, I will also make recordings of all assignments and send them to the learner so they can practice with a flutist, like they would in a in person lesson.

Learners will need access to a metronome and tuner. I will suggest apps depending on the learner. Depending on the flutist’s ability level, I will also choose a method book, etudes, and solos to use. Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! I'm Laura Boor, and I have been a private flute teacher for 23 years. I am teaching individual weekly half-hour private flute and/or piccolo lessons, beginning flute and piccolo workshops, and several 10 week flute classes (bootcamps and etude classes), and audition preparation classes.
I have worked with beginners through adults. I love to play the flute, and I always tell my students we need to work smarter, not harder. I love finding different techniques that can help us learn quicker and more efficient ways of learning.
I studied flute performance at Oakland University, and have worked in the Metro Detroit area as a teacher and performer for the past 20 years. I also work for All Elite Wrestling (AEW)'s music department as Orchestral Editor. I am married, have an 12 year old who plays piano, bassoon and tuba, and a dachshund named Klaus who is my everything.
I love to teach, and have been teaching on Zoom this entire pandemic, and I am so excited to work with you!!!!!
