In this weekly Cantonese class, students will learn beginner vocabulary words by weekly themes. It might be sports, animals, holidays, family, and shapes and colors.

*My schedule is quite full. I have this class offered with another teacher too. Message me for more details* Do you want your little ones to speak more Cantonese? Or learn a new language? Learning more than one language can improve memory, improve performance in other academic areas, and even enhance the ability to multi-task! Group classes are a great benefit for children to learn from one another, act as each other's role model and develop social skills. In this weekly course, students will learn basic vocabulary based on weekly themes. Classes will include visuals, songs, games, drawings, and even show and tell. Every student will have a chance to practice and work on their pronunciation. Students will have time to interact socially. After this class, students will gain an interest in Cantonese! Class will be in both English and Cantonese. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ENROLLMENT DETAILS: When learners can't attend class, there are a few options: 🔔 Most students will keep their subscription and can watch the recording for that week and complete the worksheet when they have time. 🔔 If the teacher offers other sections, you can switch to another section. However, your spot will not be saved in your original section. 🔔 You can pause the class. However, Outschool cannot save your spot. (Outschool charges every Sunday for the coming week's classes.) No refunds or credits are available, except in emergencies. Please contact Outschool support for assistance.

Hello, my name is Joanne. Nice to meet you!
I was born in Hong Kong but moved to Canada when I was six years old. Growing up, my family speaks to me in Cantonese so I'm bilingual in Cantonese and English. After graduating from the University of Toronto with an Honors Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Geography, I went back to Hong Kong to work. Working in Hong Kong for ten years has deepened my understanding of Chinese culture and language. I love both languages and use them daily with my family and friends.
I am now back in Canada and have been teaching children for over 10 years. I am a TESOL-certified online ESL teacher and currently teaching online ESL English and Cantonese to children in the US, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Korea from ages 4-13. I am also teaching Korean adults. I also have a ten-year-old son and we love to read, play in the park, and explore new places.
I believe you will learn more and be better at it when you are enjoying what you are doing. I love to make my students smile and laugh. I will use my bilingual skills and my experience with children to help each student to learn their best. My classes are fun, engaging, and educational.
