In this weekly recurring class students will learn about Earth Science through Google Earth. The Google Earth software includes satellite imagery along with various tools that make the platform a great environment for learning about our planet. Course topics include: volcanoes, streams, impact craters, meteorology, glaciers, deserts, the moon, and more. We will use various tools on the platform including measurement, time lapse, and coordinate data for learning purposes. Google Earth provides the opportunity to travel the world from your own device - this provides a unique and fun learning opportunity! Students will watch as I screenshare and teach. Each week will feature a new topic. Upcoming topics are as follows: “Week of April 28th: Plate Tectonics” “Week of May 5th: Volcanoes” “Week of May 12th: Streams” “Week of May 19th: Impact Craters” I'm so excited to teach about our planet! There's something special about seeing our planet from space and getting an idea of the big picture that helps students learn Earth Science. My teaching style is to be student led. I believe it's important for teachers to be a guide on the side and not a mage on the stage. Students tend to be more engaged in what they learn as they have opportunities to explore and ask questions. I can't wait to see you in class!

Some time-lapse data may make students uncomfortable. For example, viewing time-lapse satellite imagery of various meteorological events that impact humans like hurricanes or tornados or glacial retreat may upset sensitive students.
