Join artists as we work on our own, personal art journals. Sharing in conversation is always welcome, however, completely optional. Some days an artist may want to create silently and that is always welcome. Class begins with a prompt, requiring artists to respond using any art supplies in their journal. Students may write, draw, rip, cut, paint, etc. in order to express their ideas. I will lead conversation about our topic and art-centered ideas. I aim for students to feel relaxed while socializing, learning and sharing artwork together. Art journals may be private, so sharing is optional, yet, never required. This is not an art tutorial, however, I will be happy to share the techniques that I am using, as well as provide tips/feedback to all artists. I will also share interesting art history facts and stories, as they arise in conversation.

1. Art Journal: Any notebook or sketchbook will work If you use mixed media, select a journal with thick paper. 2. Student may choose any art material. Some Ideas: Pencil and Eraser Collage: Scissors, glue, old magazines, newspaper, special paper, photos, etc. Watercolor paints or watercolor pencils Acrylic paint Colored pencils Pens Washi Tape White ink
