This weekly drama club will be a space for teens to grow confident in their theatrical skills and throughout the process build friends! I have a framework that the classes will be based on, but the kids will get to choose the theme each week. I want to allow for some flexibility so that the students are able to feel that their learning is tailored to the skills that they are interested in. Each theme for the coming week will be chosen in the last few minutes of class, either by suggestions or...
Students will improve their theatrical toolbox, have a place to be their fully dramatic selves (and learn what a gift that is) and make friends in the process.
There won't be homework most weeks, however, if we are working on writing a play, for instance, or if I have assigned scenes for the next week, then students will be expected to complete the assignment so they can participate in the next class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
If the student is learning new things and having a good time then I am a happy teacher.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
If scenes or plays are assigned, I will make sure the material is appropriate.
