Class Experience

This is an ongoing class that will meet weekly to learn and sharpen improv skills.

Improv (improvisation) is the theatrical art of making up scenes and dialogue on the spot. In this ongoing class the student will learn the "rules" and techniques of improv to make a scene successful.

Each week will focus on a different skill that can be applied directly to improv performances. We will start out with warmups to get everyone comfortable and relaxed. We will then dive into the skill being focused on this particular week. In each session the students will be able to test out the newly learned skills in scenes they create with each other! Even if a student has had the class covering a specific skill, repeating classes gives them a chance to really sharpen those skills. The best way to improve at improv is by improving!

Improv teaches cooperation, listening and public speaking skills. It also gives students a chance to stretch their creative minds in creating new characters and situations.
