Weekly Cello Group Class for Experienced Players

Each week we will cover new repertoire and skills on the cello. This class will incorporate both solo and ensemble skills. Learners should have at least 1-2 years' experience playing on all the strings in first position. Learners should also be familiar with reading notes in the bass clef. If you are not sure if the level will be suitable, please contact me prior to enrolling. Topics may include: 3 basic cello scales Scales, arpeggios & why they are important Special Sound Effects - How do you make all those cool sounds on the cello? We will also explore a variety of cello repertoire in this class. *Please note that sessions will be learner-directed so the above schedule is just a sample of what we might do in class.* Repertoire and lessons are subject to change based on enrollment.

Supply List
All learners must have an appropriate size cello & bow. Please ensure that you also have rosin.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hi! I am a musician offering classes in guitar, cello, music theory & composition. I have 4 different music degrees and have been teaching for over 20 years in the US and Canada. My main goal for learners is to enjoy the process of music-making.
Fun fact: I umpired softball for 25+ years and once even got to umpire for a national tournament!
