Weekly Book Club: Sharing and Creating Together!

In this weekly class, students will come ready to discuss their book of choice. The teacher will lead the discussion by asking questions that can apply to any book giving each student a chance to answer questions and give their input. Students will have an opportunity to share the current book they are reading as well as get suggestions on other books they may want to read later.  After the discussion, we will work on a fun project! This class is meant to be an engaging and interactive class where kids get to share their love of reading!

Week 1 (January 5th - January 11th):
Design a Character

Week 3 (January 19th - January 25th): 
Design a New Cover

Week 4 (January 26th - February 1st): 
Create a Reading Log

Week 5 (February 2nd - February 8th):
Book Mobile

Week 6 (February 9th - February 15th):
Create a Book Bingo Board

Week 7 (February 16th - February 22nd):
Design a T-shirt

Plain T-shirt

Fabric Paint or Markers
Cardboard to go between layers of the shirt

Week 8 (February 23rd - March 1st):
Create a Collage

Week 9 (March 2nd - March 8th):
Design a Food Truck

Week 10 (March 9th - March 15th):
Dress up like a Character Day

Week 11 (March 16th - March 22nd):
Create a Board Game

Week 12 (March 23rd - March 29th):
Create a Comic Strip

Week 13 (March 30th - April 5th)
Share a Paper Bag Book Report
Supplies needed:
Paper bag with 5 household items that relate to the book

Week 14 (April 6th - April 12th)
Write a Letter to the Author

Week 15 (April 13th - April 19th)
Build a Scene

 Projects will repeat with occasional new ones added by teacher creation or student suggestion!
