Brenda is a certified Spanish language teacher with experience in the elementary school Spanish immersion classroom as well as one-on-one tutoring with middle and high school students. As your Spanish Teacher, I enjoy bringing in my experience as a Spanish Curriculum Coordinator where I created curriculum on ancient Maya astronomy, the culture and the geography of the Caribbean, Celia Cruz and the legacy of the African diaspora, and presented my curriculum at national conferences. I like to combine highly energized, artistic, creative play with downtime for learning Spanish. Songs, the sciences, and traditional simple stories bring Spanish to life for your elementary to high schooler. I believe that children best learn a second language when it is in a sensory rich and immersive environment. Baking mug cakes with the youngsters adds yummy fun to our Spanish language learning! Teaching is my life’s purpose. From elementary school Spanish immersion to owning my own preschool Spanish business to earning my Master’s degree in Secondary Education, Social Studies to enter the public school classroom as a bilingual history nerd to currently building an online educational presence– I’ve prioritized excellence, integrity, love, and compassion in my relationships with all of my students. I believe children should have the freedom to explore their world with joy as the hallmark of their learning experiences. The aim is to bring laughter to each of my Spanish language lessons. ¡Hasta pronto!
