In this weekly art class we will do a little bit of it all! Mixed media, painting, watercolor, chalk pastel, & recycled art. Artists will explore many different types of art mediums and connect with the same kids each week.

Class Experience


I enjoy teaching a weekly, ongoing art class for many reasons. I love being able to see same students each week to really connect and watch them grow as an artist. It is also amazing to watch the students become friends with other learners and build their own sense of community by connecting with the same students each week.

Each week depending on the project we will have opportunities to discuss the elements of art, learn about a famous artist and their unique style of art, as well as leaning different art techniques along the way.

0These are the supplies we will be using most of the time, it varies week to week depending on the project. If there is a special supply needed for the upcoming project, you will be notified in advance so that you have plenty of time to get what you need.

-Pencil & eraser
-Canvas (any size you like to work with - I use 11 x 14 and 12 x 16 mostly)
-Watercolor paper (I use 9 x 12 and 11 x 15, Canson XL brand is great and cheaper!)
-12 x 18 Sulphite Heavyweight Construction Paper (white and black mostly, but it does come in an assorted colors pack that is great too)
-Acrylic Paint (assorted colors)
-Paint brushes in a variety of sizes (round and flat)
-Watercolors (Pan sets or Liquid will be great)
-Oil Pastels (these will be used often, they are bold and creamy)
-Crayons
-Chalk pastels
-Black Fine Tip Sharpie (waterproof marker)
- Washable Markers (Like Crayola)
-White Glue / Glue Sticks
-Scissors
-Baby wipes/Tissue (for hands if we need a quick clean up (especially when we use our fingers as a tool for blending chalk)

Sometimes the class will require a handout which I will send to you a week in advance.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
