This is an ongoing weekly class. You can choose the day of the week that is most convenient for you. In each class, we will study a new Algebra 1 topic. This class is relevant for those studying Algebra 1 or wanting a refresher course before entering Algebra 2. Sessions will not build upon each other but do require a knowledge of Pre-Algebra. Class will consist of a review and key vocabulary for the week's topic. I will teach concepts and give examples via a slide presentation. Once we...
Students will both review and learn key Algebra 1 concepts of linear equations and solving 2 unknowns using 2 linear equations.
I have taught geometry and algebra via OutSchool in 2020. For 8 years, I taught algebraic equations to pre-engineering students. With my background in personal development and educational leadership, I will try to motivate students and encourage them to appreciate the application of algebra in real world situations.
Students will have homework to help reinforce learning taught in class each week.
Each student should have paper, pencil, calculator and graphing paper during the class.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
I will be using concepts and mathematical equations from, McDougal Littrell, "Algebra 1", 2007.
