How Outschool Works
Don't see a time that works for you?
In this advanced weekly class, we will cover algebraic linear & exponential equations and learn to represent them in multiple ways as: verbal descriptions, equations, tables, and graphs. The pace will be fast. We will include lessons on data analysis as well as numerous examples and exercises involving geometry. This is an advanced Algebra-1 class. You can choose the day of the week that is most convenient for you. In each weekly class, we will study a new Algebra 1 topic. This class is...
Students will both review and learn key Algebra 1 concepts.
I have taught geometry & algebra for OutSchool since 2020. For 8 years, I taught algebraic equations to pre-engineering students. With my background in personal development and educational leadership, I will try to motivate students and encourage them to appreciate the application of algebra to real world situations.
Students will practice problems to help reinforce learning taught in class each week. A homework assignment will be given each session.
Each student should have paper, pencil, calculator, and graphing paper during the class.
Assessment of practice problems and homework.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
I will be using concepts and mathematical equations from, McDougal Littrell, "Algebra 1", 2007.
