Class Experience

In this four week class, students will read four chapters from the 4th book. This will be done in script form. Every lesson will have a reading component, a discussion component and a critical thinking question. Please note: This is Part 1 and due to the length of the book, Part 2 will be listed as an independent camp.

Skills covered in this class:
Reading comprehension, critical thinking, vocabulary building, public speaking

By reading in a script form, students must follow along as their classmates read so that they don't miss their lines; in the process, they learn new words and strategies for tackling new words. Scripts allow my students to use their vivid imaginations and hone presentation skills while helping them meet learning targets and standards from each of the English language arts domains: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

Week 1: Students will read Chapter 1 -
We will discuss what makes these curses unforgivable and what the consequences are.
                         Critical thinking question.

Week 2: Students will read Chapter 4 -
             We will discuss family
                          Critical thinking question.

Week 3: Students will read Chapter 8 -
We will discuss similarities with the World Olympics
                          Critical thinking question.

Week 4: Students will read Chapter 14 -
We will discuss what makes these curses unforgivable and what the consequences are.
                         Critical thinking question.
