In this four week class, students will read four chapters from the 4th book. This will be done in script form. Every lesson will have a reading component, a discussion component and a critical thinking question. Please note: This is Part 1 and due to the length of the book, Part 2 will be listed as an independent camp. Skills covered in this class: Reading comprehension, critical thinking, vocabulary building, public speaking By reading in a script form, students must follow along as their classmates read so that they don't miss their lines; in the process, they learn new words and strategies for tackling new words. Scripts allow my students to use their vivid imaginations and hone presentation skills while helping them meet learning targets and standards from each of the English language arts domains: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Week 1: Students will read Chapter 1 - We will discuss what makes these curses unforgivable and what the consequences are. Critical thinking question. Week 2: Students will read Chapter 4 - We will discuss family Critical thinking question. Week 3: Students will read Chapter 8 - We will discuss similarities with the World Olympics Critical thinking question. Week 4: Students will read Chapter 14 - We will discuss what makes these curses unforgivable and what the consequences are. Critical thinking question.
Learning Goals
Students will hone their reading and comprehension skills. They will work on learning targets and standards from each of the English language arts domains: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
Reading aloud encourages attention to the material, patience and kindness towards other students.

Parental Guidance
Please note: Some parts of the series are frightening and maybe too scary for younger audiences. This fourth book does make reference to a student being killed. There is grief and anger and violence. Parents discretion is advised.
Supply List
Students will need one page of paper and a pencil to write their chapter summary or they can summarize it verbally in class.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

We will be reading Book 4 in the series. I will provide a script each day before class. Please print off the scripts and have them ready for class each day. The student will need a quiet place to read, a webcam and a working microphone.

What better way to encourage reading then to have some fun with Harry! I have a Bachelor's Degree with a Major in Drama and a Minor in English.
I have performed and toured with a cast where we performed across Alberta, Canada - engaging young students and bringing with us a love of drama!
I am a homeschool mom myself and I have two children with special learning needs, including Aspergers and NVLD. I guide my teaching to each child's unique needs and will support and encourage so everyone feels comfortable and accepted.
