Class Experience

US Grade 2
In this ongoing course, students will learn various 2nd grade math concepts. These concepts will not build upon each other, so your student can join in at any time! I love to teach math concepts using fun hands on activities, games, and even food! For each lesson, I will teach a skill, students will do an activity/practice the skills with the class, then the students will have an opportunity to do individual practice. Providing positive reinforcement is very important to me while I am teaching my classes! I want students to feel successful and be able to practice skills in a positive and fun environment! I will give your learner specific and positive feedback so that they can fix mistakes if needed and celebrate their successes!

Here is a list of concepts that will be taught each week:

Hello there! My name is Miss Samantha and I can't wait to be your child's Outschool teacher! I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and I hold an Arizona K-8 Teaching Certificate. I have 8 years of teaching experience and I have been teaching online for the last 3 years! I have experience teaching students between the ages of 7 and 13 in all core subjects as well as English as a Second Language. I also have experience with small group instruction and tutoring. My passion lies with teaching math, science, and baking. I love making math enjoyable and approachable for students! While teaching, it is very important to me to appeal to all different Lerners and guide them in a way that will help them on their journey to being successful mathematicians! In my free time I love to cook, bake, and do woodworking projects with my husband! I have a 4 year old son and I am a dog mom to 2 sweet dogs named Blitz and Gracie. I am very excited to share my knowledge with the Outschool community! See you in class!
