Please allow me to introduce the “Spanish Speaking Program for Native Speakers”

Please note that this is a "NATIVE SPEAKER " class that is meant for Spanish speakers that live in a bilingual household. Native speakers can already understand the language and need practice speaking freely and help with grammar, pronunciation and building their vocabulary. If you think your child matches the profile this is a great starting point!

This is a class for students that want to further their oral skills of the language and have a PACHANGA with Friends every week! The class provides extra support and opportunities for students to practice the knowledge they have gained through the years of Immersion in their home environment. The class will allow a place to continue to use Spanish and practice it with non family members long term.

The Main Focus of the NATIVE SPEAKER program: 
Correct Pronunciation.
Learning to Start a Conversation in Spanish 
Learn to Maintain a Conversation in Spanish
Using Proper Grammar when Speaking. 
Practice Spanish reading, writing and speaking with the guidance of a native speaker. 

Monthly Challenges are presented in an engaging way that captivates learners and gets them excited about learning.
Our class is focused on working with outcomes rather than themes. Topics and themes will be individual to each section of this class. The topics and themes will be selected by the teacher inspired on student led learning.

In this NATIVE SPEAKER class your child will get a chance to learn in Spanish:

- Understanding Latin Culture, including music, traditions and more.

- Reading according to age.
- Writing according to age.

- Advanced Sentence Patterns
- Advanced Short Poems

They Key Outcomes of the NATIVE SPEAKER class:

All this will be done in a safe environment, where Spanish learning is fun and facilitated with love. We are going to have a FIESTA everyday we meet!

Through the course of this ongoing class we will focus on different topics every week based on an interesting monthly theme. If there is a specific topic your child is very interested in and would like to learn more of, please do not hesitate to send me a message and let me know. I would be thrilled to bring that topic into our class and work with it to enhance learning.

There will be no time for SIESTA! lol! 

How will the class be taught?
The class will be taught using body language to illustrate vocabulary. I like to model the language for children and make slight corrections using positive reinforcements. Your child will be presented the opportunity to join the conversation through various prompts. Learners will practice their language skills with other learners and engage in Community learning. 

What is it like to take a class with “La Maestra Moni”?
Welcome to a happy place! My teaching style is dynamic and easy to follow. My aim is to provide ALL students ample opportunity to speak and repeat Spanish terms. The class will be visually appealing and engaging. 

My Teaching Philosophy:
I use the Comprehensible Input approach to teach this Spanish Immersion class. Comprehensible input is language input that can be understood by listeners despite them not understanding all the words and structures in it. According to Krashen's theory of language acquisition, giving learners this kind of input helps them acquire language naturally, rather than learn it consciously.

The simple structure of this class allows a great template for students to build on and feel comfortable with their ongoing learning experience.

Native Speakers: 
Students that live in bilingual homes (At least one of the parents speaks Spanish) or are immersed in the language. 
(2 years+ in a 100% immersion school or living in a Spanish speaking country.)

There are 3 levels for the Native Speaker series:
 - NK1 - Beginner  (Can understand everything, limited vocabulary, shy to speak.)
 - NK2 -  Intermediate  (Speaks in short sentences, mastering reading, pronunciation and vocabulary)
 - NK3 - Advanced (Can understand, can have conversations, can read, mastering pronunciation and expanding vocabulary)

This one time class is a great place to start if you would like a full assessment of your child's  Spanish level. 
This is a great way to figure out if your child needs an adjustment or dedicated attention in certain areas like:
reading, writing, pronunciation, comprehension or oral stimulation. This way we can guarantee that he or she is at the right level. Too low, the student is not challenged enough. Too high, It affects their confidence level. Right in the middle, that's where we want to be! Growing and learning!
