It’s time to have fun and play with others on Minecraft Java Edition for Computers! In this on-going club, students will experience working together to build their favorite Disneyland structures inside of Minecraft. Join anytime and the teacher will guide you and your classmates as you use your imagination to build this ongoing project of Disneyland. Would you like to explore the Haunted Mansion? Or maybe decorate Aurora’s castle? Use your imagination to create magical structures to enjoy! (For this class, students will need to purchase the Java Edition of Minecraft on their own computers). After class, students will receive a copy of their maps to save and play whenever they like. In addition to providing a fun experience students will learn how to: - Use a variety of blocks to create various shapes and structures - Decorate the interiors of buildings - Collaborate with classmates to design structures and negotiate ideas - Execute their creative ideas through building their own personalized structures - Use technology to accomplish goals - No external homework is needed - Develop negotiating skills when conflict arises in a group setting and engage in teamwork Month of April: Build Main Street Month of May: Build Adventureland Month of June: Build Frontierland Month of July: Build Fantasyland Month of August: Build Tomorrowland Month of September: Build New Orleans Square Month of October: Build Critter Country Month of November: Build Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Month of December: Build Mickey's Toontown

Please verify that your student understands our policy. We want our students to treat us and each other with respect, and we want to make sure everyone has an enjoyable class time.
When in a Playful Digital Learning class, please respect your instructor and other students.
- Follow the teacher’s instructions
- Do not destroy buildings of other students
- Be polite and kind when suggesting or criticizing ideas
- Allow other students to speak
If the class is frequently interrupted or the student is misbehaving:
- First time: Verbal or written warning
- Second time: Put the student in a breakout room to speak with an instructor one on one
- Third time: Kicked or temporarily banned from the Minecraft server until the teacher deems the behavior is corrected
Any warnings will be communicated to the student’s parent/guardian.
Supply List
Students will need to purchase and install Minecraft Java Edition on the computer and Zoom. They will also need a microphone and a camera for video communication.

Playful Digital Learning consists of people with a passion for teaching, gaming, and technology. We strive to inspire creativity, model reflection, and empower students to learn through play. Our teachers often have experience teaching both in person and online.
The founder of Playful Digital Learning, Yoonhee Lee, has done extensive research on game-based literacy learning. She has a variety of teaching experience in K-12 and adult contexts in Korea and the US. She is currently teaching pre-service teachers in Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at ASU. Her research topic is focusing on gaming and learning.
Teacher, Daniel Kyle is a student at Arizona State University Majoring in Business Law. Daniel has been working with kids for the past 6 years where he helped teach Speech and Debate. Daniel has been customizing his own skins for the past couple of years for holidays and different themes for servers.
Teacher, Carylanne Joubert Maier, is a graduate of Arizona State University with a degree in English Studies. She loves writing stories and teaching kids to enjoy it too. She has played Minecraft since 2012 and enjoys designing and building in the game.
