Class Experience

Build a professional website in my 201 class!

So, you've taken one of my Blog classes, my Become an Entrepreneur and Build a Business Website class, or my Build a Digital Portfolio, Resume, and Cover Letter class, and want to take your website to the next level. 

In this course, students transition the free website they built in one of my other website courses and learn the paid, professional Wordpress platform. Students will learn how to set up a professional, paid website through...

Students will learn:
-How to set up a paid, professional website account including domain and hosting setup
-How to use page builders to build websites
-How to use their professional website to share their ideas with others

I have over 10 years of marketing and communications experience and operate my own marketing business that has allowed me to build websites for businesses and organizations that include blog/news sections on their websites.

Will there be homework?
If a student does not finish his or her work during that day’s lesson, the student will be expected to finish it prior to the next class lesson. This class does meet once a week for 6 weeks and it is expected for each student to keep up with the lessons and any work in the lesson. With this said, this is a basic introductory course and most students should be able to follow along at the pace set.

MATERIALS NEEDED FOR CLASS:
-Desktop or Laptop computer
-Internet access
-Email account to create a WordPress account (Please do not create accounts before class. There are steps I need students to take during the set up process.)
-A notebook and pen/pencil may be helpful for note taking 

REQUIREMENT FOR THIS CLASS:
Parents/guardians are required to pay for website domain and hosting during the first class. Website domain and hosting is NOT part of the enrollment fee for this class. Website domain and hosting is approximately $125 or less. (This covers hosting for 3 years and domain for one year. It will auto renew unless parent/guardian decides to cancel.)
