Welcome to Web Development & Design with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript! In this engaging middle school class, students will dive into the fundamentals of creating and designing their own websites. Through hands-on projects and interactive lessons, they will learn how to build and style web pages, implement interactive features, and understand the principles of effective web design. This course is designed to be both fun and educational, providing students with the skills to bring their digital ideas to life.

Laura Schuhwerk is a dedicated art educator with a bachelor's degree in fine art from Webster University and a master's in art education from the University of Missouri St. Louis. Laura holds a Missouri teaching certification in art for grades K-12 and has 11 years of experience teaching middle and high school art, STEAM, and technology. Her passion for integrating technology into the arts has led her to attend numerous professional development workshops on educational technology, including graphic design, computer programming, and other tech applications.

Katie Wehner's love of numbers and hope to inspire young minds on the power of problem solving gave her a passion for teaching. With a Bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and a MO teaching certificate in middle school mathematics, Katie has taught Math, computer science and coding for the past 11 years. She enjoys showing young minds how technology is used in everyday life and how we can use that technology to problem solve, be creative with graphic design and create really cool programs with basic coding skills that use some mathematical principles. 

Ivory is a dynamic and passionate educator, deeply committed to empowering youth through transformative STEM education. As a former 7th grade math and science teacher and STEAM Educator, he designs immersive, hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and foster a love for innovation. His experience as a youth robotics coach has honed his ability to nurture teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in K-12 students, preparing them to tackle real-world challenges. Driven by a profound commitment to equity, Ivory strives to make STEM education accessible to all, ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive. With an MA public history and a BA in art, he seamlessly integrates humanities into his lessons, using creative writing, drawing, and other expressive outlets to deepen students’ engagement and enrich their STEM learning journey.

A middle school and high school teacher for over 15 years with a love for coding and problem-solving, Sherea Dunlap has honed his skills in multiple programming languages, including Python, JavaScript, and Swift, and has a knack for making complex concepts accessible and engaging for students. Teaching both introductory and advanced programming courses, Sherea emphasizes real-world applications and believes that hands-on experience is the key to mastering technology. With the understanding that computer science is an ever evolving field, Sherea takes two to four courses a year in both specific programming languages and technology in general in order stay abreast of current trends.
