Beginner Level
Students will learn the fundamentals of web development, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. They will create animated characters, build personal websites, and develop interactive web games. Lessons feature hands-on projects, interactive coding sessions, discussions, and real-time feedback to enhance learning.

Setup and Preparation
Introduction to HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Set up and explore the coding environment. Use the browser inspector to explore the HTML of different websites.

HTML Basics
Building the foundation of webpages. Learn the basics of HTML, including the structure and use of entry-level tags. Create a simple webpage.

CSS Basics
Styling your webpages. Introduction to CSS and how it can be used to style HTML elements. Apply classes and IDs to style the webpage created in the previous lesson.

Bringing a bunny to life. Use CSS and basic JavaScript to create and animate a bunny character.

This class does not include any content that is upsetting, scary, or requires special safety precautions. All activities are designed to be age-appropriate and engaging for learners aged 9-14.
Parental Guidance:
In this class, we will use Tynker for coding practice and project work. Tynker is a COPPA-compliant platform, ensuring safety for learners under 13. To get started, students will need to visit tynker.com/classcode and paste in the class code that I will share with them upon signing up for the class. Parental supervision is recommended to assist with account creation and ensure privacy and security.

Enter Class Code: Paste in the class code provided to you upon sign-up.
Create Account: Follow the prompts to create an account. Parents should help with this process to ensure the information is entered correctly and privacy settings are properly configured.

Pre-Requisites
There are no prerequisite requirements for this class. It is designed for beginners, so no previous classes or coding experience is necessary. All you need is curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to learn! We will start from the basics.

I have over 12 years of coding experience and hold a B.A. in Interactive Media and Design with a specialization in Audio Engineering from Living Arts College. I have worked professionally as a designer, web developer, and currently as a UX Developer. Additionally, I am currently building my own VR game, combining my expertise in web development and interactive media.
