The focus for this weather course will be on the North American monsoon season that impacts the southwest United States during the summertime. This course will investigate the general weather pattern, the thunderstorms, flooding, wind damage, and other impacts during this weather pattern. There will also be a short video during the class to provide a visual insight to the dangers of the localized flooding. There will be an attached note taking document with pictures to help the student learn and retain the information about the topic. The desire of the teacher is to engage the students with questions and dialogue to help them further learn the material and answer questions pertaining to the monsoon season. There will be no assigned home work in this class and the teaching style will be lecture via power point material with questions asked of the students.
