Students will also be encouraged to color ice cream cones after our live meeting since the class will focus on only the drawing of several pieces. I would like to demonstrate the DRAWING of as many examples as time will permit.Assessment
Assessment is informal and ongoing throughout the meeting.Class Experience
In this introductory class, we will explore several simple options for drawing representations of ice cream. I love to build drawing skills through the use of fun and popular food items as subject matter. We will begin with the most basic versions and make our way up to slightly more advanced versions. This class will focus heavily on the use of shapes along with familiar symbols to create our finished products. I will demonstrate step by step during the live class where students will be able to ask questions and share ideas. Learners will only need a pencil and some plain practice paper or a sketchbook. No coloring materials are required as we will focus on the drawing portion. Coloring the finished drawings after the meeting of our live class will be encouraged since I would like to demonstrate as many ice cream drawings as possible during our time together.
Learning Goals
Students will improve drawing skills through the use of basic geometric shapes and familiar symbols that are easy to form. Students will also reinforce an awareness of these geometric shapes and how we can recognize them in everyday objects.

I have taught art (along with various other subjects) for over 20 years with a B.A. in Art and an M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education. Over the years, I have noticed how much students enjoy drawing food items as subject matter. In the past when I have asked students what they want to draw, they always request more food items. It has been exciting for me to discover that they love this as much as I do.
