Do you love writing? We will explore writing personal narrative, informational non-fiction, opinion or persuasive and fantasy writing. You will be provided with a safe and engaging learning environment. We will have the opportunity to review the various genres of writing and write within one genre each week. We will brainstorm writing ideas and students will be able to choose their own story idea or choose from multiple engaging writing prompts. This class will be interactive where students can ask questions and advice. Students will also be provided with quiet writing time and the opportunity to share their writing at the end of class. Sharing is encouraged, but optional. I love hearing kids' writing!
Learning Goals
Students will understand the 4 genres of writing; narrative, information, opinion and fantasy. They will apply strategies to produce a quality writing sample for each genre.

Supply List
A composition journal, spiral notebook, paper and a pen/pencil.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
