Class Experience

If you enjoyed the We Are Writers! camp, then please join me for another session as we explore writing personal narrative, informational non-fiction, opinion or persuasive and fantasy writing all over again.  We will extend upon what you already learned and more tips will be provided to enhance your writing even more.  Once again, you will be provided with a safe and engaging learning environment.  If you did NOT take We Are Writers! camp, then you can still join.  We will reviewing content...

Students will understand the 4 genres of writing; narrative, information, opinion and fantasy.  They will apply strategies to produce a quality writing sample for each genre.

I have been a certified 3rd grade teacher for 10 years and have experience teaching writing.  As a teacher, I have taken writing classes, and my favorite is Writing Pathways by Lucy Calkins.  I have combined the best of what I have learned from all my trainings to bring students a high quality class.  I hope to share my passion of writing with kids because we are all writers!

Students can choose to expand writing each day, but not required.

Composition Journal, Spiral Notebook or Paper
Pen or Pencil
A Smile

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Students will get informal feedback throughout the lessons.  Grades provided upon request.

3 hours 20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
