Over the course of this class students will create a cupcake in the style of Wayne Thiebaud. Students will use tempera paint and a fork to create a textured paper for the base. Then they will use construction paper/ crayons for the top!

Class Experience

Students will learn by looking at artwork by the artist, teacher demonstration, and independent work time. Students will check in with the teacher after the demonstration to ensure understanding.  The teacher will check in with each students as they progress through the lesson.  This lesson will cover Elements of Art and Wayne Thiebaud.

Students will improve their understanding of the Elements of Art; Texture, Color, and Value.  Students will be introduced to the artist Wayne Thiebaud.

Hey!  I am offering this class to expose students to artists while creating their own masterpiece.  I believe I am the perfect fit as I am a certified art teacher who has spent many years fine tuning her craft on exposure to Art with a mix of different art mediums.  Art is subjective and it allow students to find their own creative outlet while learning skills along the way!

No homework.

Paper( 2 white), tempera paint, crayons( pastels/colored pencils), plastic fork or something to add texture with, scissors, glue, pencil, constructions paper.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

The learner is assessed by constructive feedback through sharing their work at the end of class on day two.

1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
