US Grade 3 - 6
Students will learn to identify the various phases of the moon in its orbit around the earth and why they occur. The class will include engaging discussion, demonstration, PowerPoint images, and fun cooperative exercises as we study earth's only natural satellite. We will explore together how the moon's reflection of sunlight and its position in the sky affect its appearance. We will also discover how solar and lunar eclipses happen and learn why we never actually see the dark side of the moon. Disclaimer: No Oreo cookies will be needed for this class.
