Oceans are very important to all of us. Oceans cover about 70% of the Earth’s surface and contain 97% of the Earth’s water supply. Oceans are amazing and full of life. Oceans affect weather, temperature, provide food, and approximately 75% of our oxygen is produced by marine plants. This is an incredible ocean themed summer camp running Monday through Friday! This camp makes waves with a week-long program focusing on ocean animals and their habitats. Campers pick their favorite ocean animals and complete a fun study of their chosen animal as an oceanographer. This amazing camp will include crafts, projects, discussions, math fun, themed games, puzzles, and more enriching fun. This camp offers a unique perspective of ocean animals both above and below the water. Jump in, it will be a splash! Supplies needed: cost of camp takes this into account. Campers will engage with the themed lessons through discussions, question and answers, peer learning, presented information on slides, read, and face to face. Each day will follow this schedule on kid time Welcome and overview 3-5 minutes Daily focus 25-30 minutes Craft, puzzles, game, other enrichment 15-20 minutes Review and prepare for tomorrow 5-10 minutes Monday: Ocean plants and animals, animal habitats, crabby craft Tuesday: Favorite ocean animal and oceanographer questions Wednesday: Jelly fish, octopus, and starfish-math skills Thursday: Sharks, dolphins, and whales, games Friday: Lighthouse, fish and puzzles
