In this one time class students will learn about rhyming words and make two "watermelon rhyme" slices to reinforce the concept!

Students will learn that rhyming words are words that have the same ending sound. We will work together to fill out two different giant rhyming picture cards. We will also play a matching rhyme game to check for student understanding. I will then walk the students through making our Watermelon Rhyme Craft. Students will need to be able to cut, paint and copy 4 words to complete the craft fully. To conclude the lesson, I will read through the story Hop on Pop to the students. The teacher will explain that there a many rhyming words in this book and will echo back the rhyming pairs when we hear them!

Welcome! My name is Mrs. Bull and I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I taught for a few years in the local public school system as a Kindergarten teacher and an RTI instructor.
After having my own three children, I took the path of homeschooling them and have appreciated all of the wonderful opportunities we have been able to experience through this style of learning. I currently am the Registrar at our local homeschool co-op and teach classes there as well.
I believe that all children have the capacity to learn, and they do best when they are able to take charge of their own learning and pursue their passions. My hope is to encourage a love of learning in each student I teach.
