Watercolour Exploration!

In this one week class we will explore the art medium of watercolours. We will use our brush to make different marks, explore colour combinations, and blocking out in our designs. But most of all we will have fun!

Class Experience

In this course: I will teach how to use watercolours to create vibrant colours, how to mix colours, how to create layers of colours to help create depth, and how to use brushwork to create texture.

The class will be structured with a look at a relevant artist's work or a sample from the teacher, then the teacher introducing and modelling the concept. Students will have time to focus on their individual work, and will be given guidance as they share their work on camera.

Students will have an opportunity to share their work with others, as well as ask questions and give input into what they notice about the artwork shared that day.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I love to teach so that my students can share in wondering about the world around them. That may be teaching word sounds, or finding fractions in every day life or it may look like painting a picture!

I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Education, with qualifications in Visual Art, Geography, English, English as a Second Language, Math and Special Education. I'm certified to teach grades kindergarten to 12. I have been teaching full time for the last 12 years, and have taught at galleries and art centres, as well as teaching for a public school board, and engaging in private tutoring.

When I'm not teaching, I'm making art or food or I'm reading. I'm always excited to explore the world around me!
