They will learn how to make a color chart of a 12 color palette and how to reference it for a more strategic approach to coloring. While this will be with watercolors, it applies to most any medium that they will use and apply a frugal approach to using art materials.
Learning Goals
Rather than using a intuitive coloring method which in of it self is a strategy, the goal here is to understand that less is more. And to get the most out of the materials they have. And to create a minimalistic piece of artwork that never goes out of style.

Supply List
This class only requires 12 Watercolors, Arteza, Strathmore or Canson XL 140lb. watercolor paper, the largest size is the best. Walmart and all hobby stores have it, Amazon ships certain items next day. A 1/4 inch flat brush is best or a number 4 round brush. Synthetics are easier to manage so I recommend them the most. In addition to 2 water cups, mixing tray (any white plastic or porcelain plate), paper towels, and 1/2 or 1/4 inch masking tape(washi tape is acceptable) a blow dryer, a Ruler (so important!) and a pencil of course. If they do not have watercolors, Crayola Markers will work if the are still really juicy.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I’m a 20 plus year veteran in the field of art. I am a self-taught artist and illustrator. I especially love to teach it. My favorite medium is watercolor and my enthusiasm for it is so real. I get so excited to show everyone what I learned through the lessons I've developed. In an on-going class schedule, students can learn lessons on their own time and at their own pace. They will learn through guided exercises and tiny paintings, within are techniques designed to guide them through the fundamental building blocks of watercolor. Additionally, 2 day live classrooms revolve around specific projects and techniques.
