In this ongoing course we will explore and create works of art using watercolors! This is an ongoing course so weekly topics will be selected based on the learners in the class for the week. Course topics include: washes, wet painting, layering, details, landscapes, people, realistic colors, abstract techniques, composition, color blending, differences in watercolor materials, and more. Each class we will do a quick run down of materials needed for instruction in class to make sure...
Students will learn how to use a variety of different watercolor techniques to create a great work of art they are proud of. We will cover composition, washes, color, abstract and realistic techniques, and so much more.
Homework is assigned weekly to be completed for the following class. Learners should expect to spend 1-2 hours on their weekly piece applying the skills learned in class that week.
Watercolor paper (regular printer paper will work for the first class but is not an acceptable long term medium for watercolor) Water cup and water A set of watercolors (basic ones will work- we will go over different types and brands to show the differences) Variety of brushes optional but recommended- drawing board and masking tape.
Learner progress is assessed weekly with written feedback on their participation in class and their homework from the prior class. Monthly progress assessment will be given to those who are working in the class long term.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
