Class Experience

This ongoing class meets once every week. We will paint baby animals. Each week is charged as a subscription on Sunday mornings. Though prior attendance and knowledge of the subject is not required to attend, we recommend absolute beginners join our Fundamental Painting series before they proceed to this class:

https://outschool.com/classes/painting-winter-art-camp-part-1-fundamentals-for-beginners-IPOT5xvV

This class is designed for students who want to learn the art of Watercolor Painting. Students will start a new project every week and have a chance to progress throughout the series. Basic artistic concepts pertaining to the medium will be covered, such as Transparency, Composition, basic Color Theory, and Value. A fundamental, hands-on working knowledge of the medium and equipment will be addressed in the first meeting. Instructor will use a step by step approach to demonstrate watercolor painting techniques used to create animal portraits. Various application techniques, including wet on dry, wet on wet, dry on wet, using salt, painting with a sponge, and more will be discussed. Emphasis will be on problem-solving, skill building, and helping students develop a personal style. Specific techniques will be addressed to help students make decisions and work through and complete paintings.

Once they built a solid foundation and keep practicing, they will be able to design a multitude of unique watercolor paintings of their own. Classes are highly interactive and students will have the opportunity to socialize and share their ideas in a fun and upbeat environment.
