We will paint a birch tree in this vibrant watercolors class. We will practice correctly loading our brush and how to achieve the correct amount of water to paint. We will talk about different colors and why they go together. Students will be allowed to choose their own background colors for this painting. We will discuss how to create a complimentary foreground and background. Mainly we will be playing with the paint and exploring the texture techniques we can achieve, with a little color theory thrown in.
Learning Goals
Students will learn to use the correct water to paint ratio for different watercolor effects, along with a little color theory.

Supply List
One 8 by 10 watercolor paper, regular paper can rip. One 1/2 inch flat brush, and one #12 round brush that comes to a nice point. Tube watercolor paints: black, white, brown, blue and at least three other colors of their choice for the background, I used the whole rainbow for mine :) Palette paper (or a foam plate works) Paper towels, and a bowl of water.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
